A man in contact with God.
John G Lake was a great example of a man in deep union with the God. Let me tell some of the fruit and proof of that close intimate fellowship this man had with God while he was still walking on this earth. After some great revivals and outpourings in South Africa. Lake returned to the United States and started a ministry called healing rooms in Spokane, Washington where he received those that needed healing. In 4 years they saw over a 100.000 people healed by the power of God. Before they sent out their newsletters Lake asked some of the people in his local congregation in Spokane to pray until the very paper of the newsletters was filled with the tangible virtue of Christ Spirit. As a result people testified of healings, miracles and baptisms in Holy Ghost while holding the news letters they had prayed for.
The Spirit of God is tangible.
This is very important to understand, since that brings us to an understanding that the Spirit of God is transferable. The laying on of hands is not just "a point of contact" for faith. It’s the very way the tangible Spirit of God gets transferred to another individual.
Back in the early church they took handkerchiefs and aprons from Paul the apostle and as they laid it upon the sick and demonized the where made whole. (Acts 19:11-12)
Why? Because the tangle Spirit of God were transferred to those aprons and handkerchiefs.
The Tangible Power Of God.
As Ambassadors of God we have to give people proof of that relationship we claim to have with All mighty God. When Jesus Ministered to people they could feel the power touch them. For instance the woman with the issue of blood felt the virtue of God go through her and she knew that she was healed. In the same manner did Jesus feel the power leave him before he asked "Who Touched me" .
Luke 6:19" And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from him and healed them all"
Its time to take the limit of what God wants to do through us.
Let me tell you, as I have had the privilege to minister to the sick, afflicted, those without God and without hope in this world. I have found out that The Father loves to touch people with this tangible anointing even though they have no knowledge of Him. You see, signs and wonders is for the unbelievers so they may know that the gospel we live and preach is true.
Bringing Healing.
Proverbs 13:17"…a faithful ambassador brings health" another translation says; Brings Healing.
We are ambassadors of another Kingdom, the kingdom of God. We are pilgrims on this earth, this is not our home this is not where we belong. We have been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. We are no longer of this world but we are in this world.
We need to recognize this and realize that we are really ambassadors of the Kingdom of God, we are sent ones!
And as The Father sends us he enable us to perform miracles as signs to a world that is without God, that there is a loving Father in Heaven that has provided a way through His Sons blood for each one of them to come into close intimate fellowship with their Creator and Father.
What I have, I can give.
I think we have to change or mindset when it comes to ministering miracles. You see for many years I ministered to people out of the faith realm and put a lot of responsible on the sick to have faith. Although this is very scriptural and I stand fully behind the teachings of faith, I think that there is more to healing than getting people to believe the promises.
You see we have been ministering healing to believer for so long that we have forgot how to minister miracles in the market places in our schools on the street corner on our job and in our homes. The healing power of God is for the sick either they are "Christians" or not.
The question is do we have the power of God to heal?
It’s a good question to ask our selves, Just because we are born again doesn’t mean that we have the power of God, Just because we speak in tongues doesn’t necessary mean we have the power of God. There are many tongue talkers but few miracle makers.
Transformed into the same image.
Before God entrusts us with his power. He wants us to be transformed into the image of His Son. Gods purpose with us is not to fill us with power. His purpose with us is to fill us with himself until the point we reflect His character here on earth.
We are not chasing power. We are chasing God. We want to become just like him, filled with love, filled with mercy, filled with faithfulness, until we become just like He is. (Rom 8:29, 1 John 4:17)
Since I’m a charismatic and raised in a church that put an amplification on Spiritual Gifts it was easy for me to adopt the thought: To be filled with the Spirit means manifesting spiritual gifts as prophecy and faith etc.
But the truth is to be filled with the Spirit means to be filled with Gods own character which is Love and out of that single attribute comes all the other qualities of God.
So what we seek after is God and our hearts longing is to be filled with Him and Him only. What happens when you get filled with God is that the same love that flows out of Him,is now flowing out of you and miracles signs and all kinds of manifestations comes out of You to people that is in need. Because of our heavenly Fathers MERCY.
1 Corinth 14:1. "Pursue LOVE and desire spiritual Gifts"
