The Importance of Holiness.
A couple of years ago during fellowship with the Holy Spirit, I heard Him say: "If You only knew the importance of holiness." Ever since then the revelation of the importance of holiness has grown and grown. As I have said before the revelation of God is progressive. As with all subjects, it is hard to cover all the depths of it. But let me try to communicate a little bit of what The Spirit has laid on my heart.

Preparing a place for His presence.
In the old testament, God dwelt with His manifest presence in the Arc. That was the only place where Gods manifested presence were abiding. We all know that God is every where at the same time "Omnipresent." But his manifest presence isn’t every where.

For God to come with His Manifest Presence there has to be a prepared place otherwise the judgment of God will be executed. Look at the Philistines in 1 Samuel 5 when they capture the Arc of God "Gods Manifest presence." Then they brought the Arc of God in the temple of one of their idols named Dagon. The morning after, they found that their idol was laying face down on the floor of the temple. That place had not been prepared for the manifest presence of God, it wasn’t a Holy place. And the result was devastating. Not Just did their idol get in trouble but the people in that city got stricken with sickness and disease. The Judgment of God was executed because of the manifest Glory, which were present.

Now you might understand why God holds back His Manifest Glory even though we pray, believe and are crying out for it. He knows that there has to be a prepared, separated, holy, sanctified place before he can manifest His Glory in His Temple. We are His temple.

When David later brought the Arc of God back to Israel, the Bible tells us that He prepared a Place for the Arc of God. With other words, he sanctified a place for the manifest Glory to abide. The word Sanctify is to set apart for a single purpose. In order for us to be a habitation of Gods His manifest Glory we have to prepare a place. Otherwise the judgment of God will be executed and we know what happened to the philistines or even worse the sons of Eli who served in the temple of the Lord without holy characters.

Let God Sanctify You.
God Our Father has promised to Sanctify us. All we have to do is yield to the working of His hands. He is The Potter and we are the clay which he prepare for His manifest Glory.

1 Thessalonians 5:22-24 "Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. He who called you is Faithful, who also will do it.

It is our responsibility to stay away from all form of evil. Then God has promised to sanctify us completely, He called us and He will enable us for that call and the first step is sanctification. Isn’t it great to know that if we show God that we means business with preparing a place for His manifest Glory, He will Jump right on it and place us on the potters wheel to form us into a prepared place for His very Glory.

The purpose of Holiness is so that You and I will be a prepared, holy and sanctified place where God can take his Abode (Make His Home) with His Manifest Glory! Let Him start today and let it take the time it takes. It is worth it! He who started You will also finish You!!
